Two specials to sweeten your Golden Rose Day.

Classy mare Semana looks set to break her long run of outs as she drops back in grade to contest the Group 2 Racing And Sports Golden Pendant (1400m), at Rosehill tomorrow.

The Ciaron Maher trained mare has finished behind the likes of proven Group 1 winners Zougotcha, Steffi Magnetica, Bella Nipotina and Via Sistina at her last five outings. 

Tomorrow, she meets a small but select field over her preferred trip of 1400m and looks well in with the 55kg.

With the prospect of a slow to heavy track she profiles as the best "wet tracker" in the race, with race fitness on her side.

Semana brings superior figures after sitting on the speed when a tenacious fourth behind Via Sistina, in the Group 1 Winx Stakes  (1400m), on August 24.

The form out of that race has proven a strong guide to the spring, with Buckaroo winning the G2 Chelmsford (1600m) at Randwick and the G1 Underwood (1800m) at Caulfield on September 21.

The Chris Waller trained Fangirl has also franked the form when a dominant winner of the 7+ Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on September 21.

Tomorrow from the middle draw, Dylan Gibbons should be able to park her just off the speed on the right part of the track and stamp her authority.

Crunched in early betting, she currently sits as a $2.70 favourite, and could start even firmer come jump time.

Out next best comes in Race 1, The Midway Handicap with the progressive Alabama State. 

The lightly raced colt was a total forgive from the wide draw in this class last start, when finishing fourth.

Drawn to box seat tomorrow from the good gate, the $4 on offer looks great value.
