Sandown Hillside Race 5 - Skippers Canyon

Big win from this OTI owned gelding at his Australian debut, charging home from well back in the field off a solid tempo to score convincingly with a big gap back to third. That's a new peak rating at Racing & Sports for him having come over with a rating of 85, and clearly he'll get further. Only a benchmark 70 here so there'll be plenty of room to move with his handicap going forward.

Doomben Race 2 – Anders' Style

Heading north for the other horse to follow as this Peter Robl trained two-year-old went very well on debut, kicking up from the inside gate to sit on speed and come away from his rivals late over the 1100m. The overall time was strong and the margins behind are encouraging. He's run around 1-1/2 lengths slower than the benchmark 70 later on the card which is very solid for a horse on debut.
