We've found a horse to follow from Morphettville on Saturday.
Race 6: Je City (4th)
It goes without saying that the winner of this race, Tropical House, is a progressive horse worth following. The mare put four lengths on her rivals and is clearly destined for greater heights than Saturday's Class 2 event.
But if making a case for one of the beaten brigade out of this race or any other on Saturday, I'm happy to stick with Je City, who finished fourth behind Tropical House.
The gelding was lining up for his fifth start since joining Morphettville trainer Dylan Caboche and he's shown steady improvement at each run. On Saturday, he got back and, while he wanted to lay in up the straight and couldn't match the finishing burst of the winner, he still caught the eye.
His final 200m sectional was the quickest of the race and he would've collared the second and third placed horses in a few more strides.
His rating has now dropped to 58 so he's eligible for some easier races at provincial level. From a good draw in the right BM56 or BM58 handicap, he should be winning in his next couple of starts.
He may also benefit from a left-handed whip rider.
Tropical House as easy as you'd like!
