Murwillumbah racecourse is the home of the Tweed River Jockey Club and is the closest racing venue on the NSW north coast to the Queensland border. Located just 20km south of Coolangatta and an hour from Surfers Paradise, racing at Murwillumbah is a popular attraction for leading Gold Coast and Queensland stables.
Murwillumbah racecourse is located 3km north of the town centre amid sugar cane fields with the magnificent landmark Mt Warning as a backdrop. The Tweed River Jockey Club conducts 11 race meetings each year with the highlight being the Murwillumbah Cup meeting. Murwillumbah racecourse has a symmetrical circumference of 1600 metres and home straight of 290 metres. The track is 16 metres wide with starting chutes catering for races over 1200m, 1500m and 2000m.
