John Gosden started out as an assistant to two of the most successful trainers in history Vincent O'Brien and Sir Noel Murless before moving to California and working for Tommy Doyle, taking out his own American training license in 1979.
Gosden trainer over 500 winners during his time in California, Bates Motel and Royal Heronie two of his better gallopers before moving back to England in 1989 to train at Stanley House Stable.
John Gosden continued to train with good success in the UK throughout the 1990's forming a successful partnership with Frankie Dettori, winning many feature races in the UK and France.
Moving to Manton for the beginning of the 2000 season Gosden continued to train a large amount of winners before announcing he would move back to Clarehaven at Newmarket in 2006, winning the British trainers' premiership for the first time in 2012.
Gosden who has trained multiple classic winners is recognised as one of the leading trainers in Britain with over 3000 winners and over 100 Group 1's around the world.
