Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 05.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Doomben, Belmont and Balaklava.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 4 @ 2:00 PM
LLANDDWYN (3) improved sharply last start at the second run of the campaign, getting to the lead in the lane only to be nailed late over this course and distance. That run should top him off nicely. Blinkers go back on and McDonald sticks so the message is strong that she is ready to win. SETOMBE (13) returned from a four-month spell with a barnstorming win over this trip at Hawkesbury three weeks ago. Should settle a bit closer today from a better draw and another win is not out of the question. EYE OF THE FIRE (1) led all the way and gave nothing else a chance in a Class 1 over today's journey at Hawkesbury recently. Deserves his chance in town. UNTOUCHABLE LEGEND (7) is an each-way hope first-up on the back of a strong recent Rosehill trial. The lightly raced COSMONOVA (5) resumes. Shows plenty of promise and respect Joe Pride's decision to come straight to town this prep.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 5 @ 2:45 PM
DEROZARIO (8) broke her maiden two back at Cranbourne as the short-priced favourite and was good again last time at Sandown-Hillside over 1800m when beaten a neck. Back up in trip here should suit even better and she maps nicely. JAYKAYANN (1) comes here third-up and ready to peak having run well last start at Cranbourne, working home well from back in the field. Will get back again here but should prove very hard to hold out. SKY HORSE (3) finished 9th out of 10 at Bendigo last time out but wasn't beaten all that far and looks nicely suited out to 2100m third up. Can improve at odds. RULE OF TIME (4) has been good in three runs back, beaten half a length last time out. Should be thereabouts. MORRISSETTE (5) next best.
SELECTIONS: Derozario to win.
DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:53 PM
A good contest. SPIRITCHASER (7) switched from a Sydney barn and resumed an easy winner at Grafton. She was on speed again following at Ipswich missing a nose at this level. Is likely to take a sit today and fitter again can bounce back. CASSIERE (8) is a former Kiwi who creates plenty of interest resuming for the premier metro barn. Won as a heavily bet favourite at Matamata on debut and has been away 84 days. Has a sticky gate but the filly has to be kept very safe. PAYLINE (3) was solid as favourite at Eagle Farm first-up and then belted the Sunshine Coast Maidens by 3.3L backed off the map. He's progressive and will get every chance to repeat the dose. FIRST PERSON (9) peaks and has been threatening in NSW. Her form is also good enough.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 6 @ 6:10 PM
AMARLIE MISS (5) ran over the top to win first-up last campaign and looks ready to go judging by her two trials coming into this. Pike hops in the saddle for the first-up run which is a big tick. She looks a progressive filly on the way through, and she can knock this off on her way to better races. PLATINUM CLASS (1) should be hitting her peak now third-up into the campaign following a 1.6L defeat in tougher company last time out. First time out to this trip, but there's no obvious reason why she won't run it out. Campbell's claim comes in handy and she won't be far away. FEARLESS TALK (8) is inching closer to a win after being caught on the post here 14 days ago. She is 552 days between wins, but she's getting back to form now and she can take plenty of catching from the front. RIVERCREST MAGIC (3) can build on the last start win with the aid of a good draw. CRUISE TO RIO (2) will appreciate the rise in trip and looks an improver.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Amarlie Miss on resumption.
BALAKLAVA: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
FREE VINO (1) has been mixing his form this campaign but his best efforts are certainly good enough. Only missed by a head last start at Strathalbyn in this grade. On the short turn around and is the one to beat. OCEAN BLAST (3) was a barnstorming winner two back at Murray Bridge. Not as effective last time when up in grade but is better suited this time. THEBIGSOSSO (4) has been well below his best of late but rates highly on best figures. On the quick turnaround and is and drawn favourably. Not without claims. KNICKPOINT (9) worked home strongly into the frame last start at Strathalbyn. Doesn't win out of turn but is worth keeping safe.
